# beehiiv raises paid-plan prices as newsletters expand into an all-in-one creator platform

beehiiv has renamed its paid plans, raised prices at several subscriber tiers and set existing customers to move at their first renewal on or after November 1, while expanding core products across every plan and letting Pro accounts grow to 250,000 subscribers without an Enterprise contract.

The pricing change is also a packaging change: beehiiv is charging more for paid tiers while putting newsletters, websites, podcasts, community and digital products across the plan family and extending self-serve scale.

## What changed

beehiiv introduced a new Free, Lite, Pro and Enterprise plan structure on October 1, replacing Launch, Scale and Max naming. New customers moved immediately; existing customers move at their first renewal on or after November 1. Paid pricing rises at several subscriber tiers. The entry pricing shown by beehiiv is now $49/month for Lite and $95/month for Pro on annual billing, while monthly examples for 1,000 subscribers are $59 and $109 respectively. The company is also broadening packaging: every plan gets access to core products including newsletters, websites, podcasts, community and digital products, while Pro now supports up to 250,000 subscribers before an Enterprise plan is required.

## Why it matters

Newsletter operators increasingly use publishing platforms as a combined email, website, monetization, community and commerce stack. That makes a beehiiv price change an operating-cost and lock-in decision rather than a simple email-software comparison. Existing customers have a concrete renewal boundary to model, and larger publishers gain a longer self-serve runway. The trade-off is that beehiiv is asking paid customers to absorb higher subscription costs while arguing that bundled products can replace separate tools.

## Existing customers have a dated migration boundary

New pricing applies to new customers from October 1. Existing monthly and annual customers keep their current price until their first renewal on or after November 1, with annual customers retaining their current rate through the end of the paid term. beehiiv says monthly customers will receive at least 30 days' notice before their first bill at the new price.

## The plan names changed with the packaging

Launch becomes Free, Scale becomes Lite and Max becomes Pro. Free remains available up to 2,500 subscribers. Lite supports up to 100,000 subscribers and Pro now reaches 250,000, removing the previous need to move into Enterprise at 100,000 for customers who fit the self-serve feature set.

## beehiiv is bundling more products into the subscription

The company says every plan now exposes its core product family, including newsletters, websites, podcasts, community and digital products, with limits and advanced capabilities varying by tier. Paid plans also retain 0% platform fees on paid newsletter subscriptions. This shifts the value comparison toward how many separate creator tools a publisher can actually replace.

## The price rise is already producing creator pushback

Independent reporting from The Verge documents complaints from publishers who say the increase weakens beehiiv's value, particularly for smaller or ad-supported publications. That reaction does not establish churn, but it matters because the new economics arrive while beehiiv is explicitly broadening from newsletter software into a larger creator operating platform.

## Key details

- New beehiiv pricing took effect for new customers on October 1, 2026.
- Existing customers move at their first renewal on or after November 1, 2026.
- Launch is now Free, Scale is Lite and Max is Pro.
- Free remains available for up to 2,500 subscribers.
- Lite starts at $49/month on annual billing and Pro starts at $95/month on annual billing at the entry subscriber tier.
- beehiiv's own current comparison material shows monthly entry examples of $59 for Lite and $109 for Pro at 1,000 subscribers.
- Pro now supports up to 250,000 subscribers before Enterprise is required.
- beehiiv says paid subscriptions continue to carry a 0% platform take rate.

## Builder takeaways

- Check the exact renewal date and subscriber tier rather than comparing only headline starting prices; existing accounts change on renewal, not on October 1 automatically.
- Re-run total stack cost if beehiiv is replacing separate website, podcast, community, automation or digital-product tools. A higher beehiiv bill can still be cheaper overall, but only if the bundled products replace real spend.
- If a list is near a subscriber-tier boundary, clean inactive subscribers before renewal because beehiiv prices paid plans by total active subscriber count across the account.
- Publishers above 100,000 subscribers should compare the new Pro self-serve ceiling with their existing Enterprise economics before assuming an Enterprise contract is still necessary.

## What to watch

- Actual churn or migration evidence after existing customers begin renewing at the new prices from November 1.
- Whether beehiiv adjusts subscriber-tier pricing or grandfathering in response to creator feedback.
- Whether the broader community, podcast and digital-product bundle materially reduces publishers' use of separate tools.
- Changes to the 0% paid-subscription platform fee or the 250,000-subscriber Pro ceiling.

## Uncertainties

- The practical percentage increase varies by subscriber tier, billing cadence, legacy plan and discount, so there is no single price-rise percentage for all customers.
- Independent creator complaints establish dissatisfaction but not the scale of churn or willingness to pay.
- Some beehiiv pages were still showing older Scale/Max naming during the transition, so operators should use their in-account renewal quote for exact billing.
