# Periskope raises monthly seat prices while turning AI usage into a separate credit layer

Periskope’s first major pricing change raises monthly Starter and Pro seat prices from September 1 while leaving annual pricing unchanged and introducing included plus top-up AI credits for heavier agent and automation usage.

Periskope is moving toward a hybrid SaaS model: core access is still licensed per user, but variable AI work is now represented by credits that can be topped up separately. Monthly customers also face a 17–25% seat-price increase while annual rates remain unchanged.

## What changed

From September 1, 2026, Periskope raises Starter monthly pricing from $20 to $25 per license and Pro monthly pricing from $30 to $35. Annual Starter remains $15 per license per month and annual Pro remains $25. Each paid Pro and Enterprise license now includes 5,000 AI credits, and teams can buy a shared 10,000-credit top-up for $25. Pro customers can also buy 25 additional active automation rules for $50 per month. Existing annual customers keep their current annual pricing; customers under signed agreements keep existing terms until renewal.

## Why it matters

The pricing design is a concrete example of AI SaaS splitting predictable platform access from variable-cost AI consumption. Periskope is not abandoning seat pricing; instead it is raising monthly seat rates while layering usage credits on top for agents, summaries, translations, reporting and workflow actions. That makes the plan easier to compare with other emerging hybrid models and gives builders a useful packaging pattern when AI costs are too variable to absorb inside an unlimited seat.

## Monthly seats get more expensive, annual seats do not

Periskope is using the September change to widen the gap between monthly and annual commitment. Starter monthly moves from $20 to $25 and Pro monthly from $30 to $35, while the annual equivalents stay at $15 and $25 per license per month.

## AI becomes a separately metered layer

Every paid Pro and Enterprise license now includes 5,000 AI credits for features such as agents, summaries, response generation, flagging, translation, reporting and external-system workflows. Teams that need more can buy 10,000-credit packs for $25, shared across the workspace.

## Automation capacity can also be purchased independently

Pro customers can buy 25 additional active automation rules for $50 per month rather than adding another user license merely to expand workflow capacity. That further separates consumption and operational limits from the base seat count.

## Existing contracts soften the migration

Annual customers do not see a base-price change. Customers with an active MSA or signed order form retain current pricing and terms until renewal, reducing the immediate disruption for contracted teams.

## Key details

- Starter monthly rises from $20 to $25 per license, a 25% increase.
- Pro monthly rises from $30 to $35 per license, about a 16.7% increase.
- Annual Starter and Pro pricing remain unchanged at $15 and $25 per license per month respectively.
- Paid Pro and Enterprise licenses include 5,000 AI credits each.
- A shared 10,000-credit AI top-up costs $25.
- Pro customers can buy 25 additional active automation rules for $50 per month.
- Existing signed agreements retain current terms until renewal.

## Builder takeaways

- Treat the change as a hybrid-pricing example rather than a simple seat-price increase.
- If you are a Periskope customer on monthly billing, compare the new monthly price with annual commitment before renewal.
- Model AI-credit burn separately from seat cost if agents and automation are central to your workflow.
- For SaaS builders, note the packaging pattern: seats fund baseline access while AI and automation capacity can scale independently.
- When benchmarking competitors, compare included credits and top-up economics, not just headline seat price.

## What to watch

- Actual AI-credit consumption rates across agent, summary and workflow features.
- Whether annual pricing is raised later after the current monthly-only change.
- Whether more automation or AI limits move into standalone top-up products.

## Uncertainties

- Periskope does not publish a simple universal mapping from every AI action to credits on the pricing-update page, so effective cost per task depends on usage mix.
- Regional pricing in INR and BRL may produce different relative changes than the USD examples.
