GitHub rewrote Copilot’s 800,000-line agent runtime in Rust with agents doing most of the coding

The useful part is not the 800,000-line headline. GitHub has published unusually detailed receipts for a production-scale agent-assisted migration: roughly $120,000 of token spend, 14.5 weeks of incremental releases, dozens of regressions, extensive compatibility tests and a workload-specific jump from 7.55 to 120 session lifecycles per second.

Cloudflare Browser Run can now hard-limit agent sessions to approved hostnames

The useful change is containment rather than another browser-agent feature. Teams can let an agent operate a real browser while constraining its HTTP and HTTPS reach to the site and dependencies the task actually needs, reducing the blast radius of prompt injection, bad tool decisions or untrusted page content.

Google is temporarily restricting new Gemini API access from service accounts

The change creates an authentication compatibility boundary for server-to-server Gemini integrations: an architecture that works in an existing project may not be reproducible with a newly introduced service account, and Google has not published an end date for the restriction.

Amazon SES can now switch open and click tracking per email request

The new request-level controls make email measurement a per-send decision: an application can keep one SES configuration set while disabling open or click tracking for recipients who should not be measured. The override wins over the configuration-set default and adds no separate feature charge.

Meta’s approved U.S. teen settlement makes daily limits and nighttime blocks default on Instagram and Facebook

The settlement has crossed from proposed agreement to approved operating constraint. Meta now says the two-hour limit counts activity across Facebook, Instagram and detected multiple accounts, while teens also gain controls for non-algorithmic feeds and autoplay; most terms are required to remain in place for ten years.

Cerebras CS-4 turns Nexus into a multi-generation rack-scale inference platform

CS-4 combines three WSE-3 Turbo wafers with Cerebras’ Nexus rack design. The practical shift is architectural: compute, power and I/O become modular, while Cerebras now says the same platform is intended to support CS-5 in 2027 and a 3D-memory CS-6 generation after that.

Supabase makes MCP access centrally governed through enterprise SSO

Supabase has implemented MCP Enterprise-Managed Authorization using identity-provider assertions, short-lived tokens and existing Supabase role boundaries. It gives organizations a central on/off switch for approved AI clients while keeping access scoped to the individual employee rather than sharing a powerful organization token.

ChatGPT Atlas can still surface blocked URLs unless publishers use noindex

Blocking OAI-SearchBot is not a complete removal signal for ChatGPT Atlas. OpenAI says a disallowed page can still appear as a link and title when the URL is learned elsewhere and judged relevant; publishers that want to suppress that result need a crawlable noindex directive, while GPTBot remains the separate training control.

WordPress Studio is making an agentic build loop the default desktop experience

Studio Code was already available in WordPress Studio, but the August 24 redesign changes the default workflow: the coding agent now sits at the center of the desktop app beside a live local WordPress preview, with point-and-annotate feedback and one-click hosting sync. The beta also ends the earlier unlimited-free framing by introducing a credit limit and paid top-ups.

GitHub’s OAuth apps get short-lived tokens, multiple callbacks — and a wildcard setting worth auditing

GitHub OAuth apps can now use eight-hour access tokens with rotating refresh tokens, register up to 10 callback URLs, and explicitly control wildcard callback matching. New apps default to expiring tokens, while existing single-callback apps should review a legacy wildcard setting GitHub has now made visible.
