PostgreSQL operators gain per-statement and per-transaction estimated-cost limits across versions 14–18, useful for runaway reports and ORMs. The guard is disabled by default and can be bypassed by users allowed to change planner cost parameters.
The migration is no longer an open-ended future plan. Reddit is killing RSS on November 13 and says remaining public API access ends by March 2027, giving bots, moderation tools, social-listening products and research integrations concrete deadlines.
The security shift is deeper than running application containers as non-root: the node stack itself can now live inside a user namespace. The feature is enabled by default in 1.37, but clusters do not become rootless automatically and CNI/CSI compatibility still needs testing.
DigitalOcean’s MySQL 8.0 support window now has a hard operational endpoint. Existing managed clusters need application and schema compatibility testing before October 30 because the provider will move them to 8.4 during maintenance rather than leave 8.0 running indefinitely.
Agents and operations tooling can inspect HA health, trigger switchovers, restore to a timestamp and change connection pooling from one machine-readable surface. That increases automation power, but recovery actions still create real operational boundaries such as brief failover interruption and forked PITR services.
YepAPI corrected a platform-wide flat-rate billing defect on August 22 and left historical undercharges untouched. On the same date it also increased selected flat-rate and volume prices, making the current cost step-up larger for some endpoints than the billing fix alone would suggest.
Notion Workers are now metered inside the same credits system as Custom Agents. The important builder shift is that schedules, webhook fan-out and agent tool-call counts now directly affect cost.
App Engine’s TLS migration is now an active rollout. Applications that still depend on TLS 1.1 or earlier can opt out only through August, while September enforcement may block old clients differently on appspot.com and custom domains.
The broad result survives a meaningful refresh of the living dataset: observable SaaS pricing is still not predominantly per-seat, but the exact model mix moved enough that the old 41% flat/platform figure should no longer be quoted as current.
The important change is enforcement. WordPress.org already had a release cooldown and automated scanning, but high-risk results can now stop a plugin update automatically instead of waiting for the Plugins Team to intervene.
This is a useful reminder that exploitation pressure does not scale neatly with plugin popularity: Wordfence says it has blocked more than 250,000 attempts against a plugin with a five-figure install base.
This is separate from LinkedIn’s Ads Legacy Geo cutoff already tracked by BTN. Profile and compliance integrations can fail more quietly: the request may still succeed while a field the application expects simply disappears or becomes null.
supabase-js 2.112.3 materially improves the tracing rollout BTN covered earlier: unsampled requests now still carry traceparent for backend log correlation, tracing misconfiguration produces warnings, and browser Edge Function calls need current CORS headers to admit W3C trace context.
The settlement has crossed from proposed agreement to approved operating constraint. Meta now says the two-hour limit counts activity across Facebook, Instagram and detected multiple accounts, while teens also gain controls for non-algorithmic feeds and autoplay; most terms are required to remain in place for ten years.
For some queries, Google is no longer waiting for a user to open a longer AI Overview. The system can expand it automatically, creating a larger zero-click answer surface and moving traditional results further down the page.
Cloudflare’s RUM measurement model now distinguishes hard navigations, native soft navigations and routing-API fallbacks. For React, Vue, Angular, Svelte and other client-routed sites, the immediate consequence is a metric discontinuity: pageviews and Core Web Vitals can shift without an underlying traffic change.
The useful finding is not that BRIN is bad: it is that a table can still report strong column correlation while update churn has destroyed the physical range locality BRIN actually depends on. DeepSQL published the full Docker/SQL harness so teams can reproduce the failure mode on their own workloads.
Google’s new agent FinOps model combines hard monthly spend caps that pause agent API calls, Flexible Savings Plans with one- or three-year commitments, pay-as-you-go Gemini Enterprise usage and planned deferred execution at up to half normal inference cost. The controls are useful, but commitment economics and task eligibility need to be modeled carefully.
Vercel KMS gives Functions OIDC-authenticated access to managed RSA, ECDSA and EdDSA signing keys. Builders can scope grants by project and environment, constrain JWT claims with JSON Schema, rotate keys centrally and publish standard OIDC/JWKS metadata for verification outside Vercel.
The architectural shift is from application-wide container configuration toward individually managed stateful compute. A Durable Object can now start its own image and size, keep an independent lifecycle and restore filesystem state without treating every instance as part of one rollout.
