This is a hard managed-database migration rather than a soft deprecation. IONOS says automatic migration is impossible, v1 instances are switched off, and applications need new v2 endpoints even though Valkey remains compatible with standard Redis clients.
AWS is changing how Lambda introduces managed runtimes: Node.js 26 and Python 3.15 are available in public preview before GA, with normal runtime identifiers that automatically graduate when the runtimes become production-ready.
Memory-bound agents, retrieval systems and stateful services can now choose 2-, 4-, 8- and 12-CPU Render plans with much wider RAM ratios. Existing plan prices and legacy IDs stay compatible; the new choices change the cost trade-off for workloads that previously had to overbuy CPU to get enough memory.
AWS has added a `REFERENCE` mode for Lambda deployment packages. It eliminates duplicate managed copies, raises the default managed-storage quota to 300GB, and gives teams direct control over encryption, lifecycle and audit policy—but a deleted or inaccessible source object can now make a function inactive.
Render is reshaping Workflows economics as it reaches GA: most small and I/O-heavy tasks should get cheaper under Flex, while task-state retention becomes a new line item and fixed-size Pro tiers remain for heavier compute.
PGDG's 20 October repository retirement requires RHEL, Rocky and AlmaLinux 9.6/10.0 operators to update their OS minor release or deliberately switch to the frozen archive. Rolling EL9 and EL10 repository packages are unaffected.
At ObservabilityCON 2026, Grafana opened paid plugin distribution to verified partners. Cloud customers can trial and subscribe to integrations on their Grafana bill; partner maintenance and security requirements are part of the model.
Private ingress joins existing private egress for Scaleway Serverless Containers. The new option can isolate services inside a VPC, but private DNS, TLS, authentication, cold-start and network-scope constraints still matter.
The new Turso 0.8 results add a concrete performance datapoint to the earlier MVCC preview, but benchmark workloads, transaction conflicts and production durability still require independent verification.
The October 15 Gateway/Workers integration turns a secure web gateway into an application-specific programmable proxy. Teams gain custom request/response handling, but must account for inspection order, WebSocket exclusions and standard Workers billing.
Redis-compatible cache and queue costs have fallen across Render's 1GB-plus Key Value plans, with two new memory tiers and automatic repricing for existing customers.
Oracle's Visual Builder availability change closes two hosted app-building routes to new customers, but it is not a shutdown or migration deadline for existing deployments.
Neon now includes 100 separate free Postgres projects with 1GB each, 100 compute-unit hours per project and branching. It is a meaningful per-project allowance increase, not an unrestricted production database tier.
Training experiments and batch inference can use Together AI's discounted preemptible GPUs in existing clusters. Workloads must checkpoint or requeue on interruption, and at least one standard node is required.
PostgreSQL operators gain per-statement and per-transaction estimated-cost limits across versions 14–18, useful for runaway reports and ORMs. The guard is disabled by default and can be bypassed by users allowed to change planner cost parameters.
The third-party pgx-bm25 1.0 extension gives PostgreSQL 17 and 18 native-index BM25 ranked retrieval with ordered scans and no external engine, but it is not built into PostgreSQL core and has important planner and RLS caveats.
The architectural shift is from application-wide container configuration toward individually managed stateful compute. A Durable Object can now start its own image and size, keep an independent lifecycle and restore filesystem state without treating every instance as part of one rollout.
The exploitation signal has strengthened again: CISA added CVE-2026-87902 to KEV on September 25. That turns earlier vendor and security-company telemetry into formal U.S. government confirmation of in-the-wild exploitation.
The replacement is not a drop-in path rename: Cloudflare separates domain search, availability checks and registration operations into newer endpoints, so old registrar automation can break after the cutoff.
