GitHub rewrote Copilot’s 800,000-line agent runtime in Rust with agents doing most of the coding

The useful part is not the 800,000-line headline. GitHub has published unusually detailed receipts for a production-scale agent-assisted migration: roughly $120,000 of token spend, 14.5 weeks of incremental releases, dozens of regressions, extensive compatibility tests and a workload-specific jump from 7.55 to 120 session lifecycles per second.

Cloudflare Browser Run can now hard-limit agent sessions to approved hostnames

The useful change is containment rather than another browser-agent feature. Teams can let an agent operate a real browser while constraining its HTTP and HTTPS reach to the site and dependencies the task actually needs, reducing the blast radius of prompt injection, bad tool decisions or untrusted page content.

Google is temporarily restricting new Gemini API access from service accounts

The change creates an authentication compatibility boundary for server-to-server Gemini integrations: an architecture that works in an existing project may not be reproducible with a newly introduced service account, and Google has not published an end date for the restriction.

Supabase makes MCP access centrally governed through enterprise SSO

Supabase has implemented MCP Enterprise-Managed Authorization using identity-provider assertions, short-lived tokens and existing Supabase role boundaries. It gives organizations a central on/off switch for approved AI clients while keeping access scoped to the individual employee rather than sharing a powerful organization token.

ChatGPT Atlas can still surface blocked URLs unless publishers use noindex

Blocking OAI-SearchBot is not a complete removal signal for ChatGPT Atlas. OpenAI says a disallowed page can still appear as a link and title when the URL is learned elsewhere and judged relevant; publishers that want to suppress that result need a crawlable noindex directive, while GPTBot remains the separate training control.

WordPress Studio is making an agentic build loop the default desktop experience

Studio Code was already available in WordPress Studio, but the August 24 redesign changes the default workflow: the coding agent now sits at the center of the desktop app beside a live local WordPress preview, with point-and-annotate feedback and one-click hosting sync. The beta also ends the earlier unlimited-free framing by introducing a credit limit and paid top-ups.

Docker Desktop is replacing its third-party VM layer with Docker VMM

Docker VMM gives Docker direct control over Desktop’s hidden Linux-VM layer and is still targeted to become the default for new installs at GA. The August 24 Desktop 4.88 release is an important beta signal: it fixes a severe inbound-network-throughput regression and removes a 28 GiB Mac memory ceiling, reinforcing the need for workload-specific testing before standardisation.

Cloudflare Containers exposed previous tenants’ disk data through unzeroed blocks

This was not a Firecracker escape or access to a live victim disk. It was a storage-isolation failure underneath the sandbox: researchers recovered foreign directory structures, database pages and complete SQLite databases from reused blocks, and Cloudflare had to fix allocation plus retire existing disks and cached snapshots.

Paddle brings recurring Pix payments to SaaS subscriptions in Brazil

Brazilian customers can authorize Pix Automático mandates for Paddle subscriptions without a separate early-access application. The path broadens local-payment access for SaaS, while delayed renewals, fixed mandate amounts and re-authorisation requirements still create implementation caveats.
