OpenAI’s Codex client exposes a GenUI layer for refreshable interfaces inside conversations

RuntimeWire found a generic `genui` message path, a server-directed widget refresh endpoint and 467 versioned Learning Block manifests inside OpenAI’s Codex desktop client. The material development is not another visualization feature: it is evidence of a reusable interface layer beneath conversational answers, with important limits around what is actually public or enabled.

Agent Plugins 1.0 now has a concrete cross-client compatibility layer for Skills and MCP

Agent Plugins 1.0 now has documented support across VS Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT/Codex, Kiro and several open-source agents. That makes the format materially more useful for cross-client distribution, but portable components remain limited to Agent Skills and MCP servers while permissions, hooks, commands and host UX stay client-specific.

GPT-6 Astra reaches broad API rollout with 1.05M context — and enterprise computer-use controls

Astra's adoption question is no longer only model capability. Builders can now model its long-context economics and task-level efficiency, while enterprises get a more explicit control plane for computer use. The same release also raises the cyber-safety boundary: OpenAI says Astra is its first model to reach the Preparedness Framework's Critical cybersecurity capability threshold.

OpenAI’s Assistants API has shut down

The Assistants API shutdown date has passed. OpenAI’s deprecation documentation lists August 26, 2026 as the removal date and directs developers to Responses and Conversations for replacement workloads.

Sign in with Apple is moving new relay addresses to private.icloud.com

Apple has narrowed an earlier plan to unify Sign in with Apple and iCloud+ Hide My Email domains: only new Sign in with Apple relay addresses are moving to `private.icloud.com`, while Hide My Email stays on `icloud.com`. Existing relay addresses continue working, making this a compatibility migration rather than an address replacement.

Cloudflare Containers exposed previous tenants’ disk data through unzeroed blocks

This was not a Firecracker escape or access to a live victim disk. It was a storage-isolation failure underneath the sandbox: researchers recovered foreign directory structures, database pages and complete SQLite databases from reused blocks, and Cloudflare had to fix allocation plus retire existing disks and cached snapshots.
