Aurora Serverless can now add roughly 12 ACUs in the first second of a scale-up event on platform versions 3 and 4. The change is automatic and is most useful for bursty SaaS, API, batch and agent workloads, but it does not remove the separate resume delay when a database has scaled all the way to zero.
Vercel KMS gives Functions OIDC-authenticated access to managed RSA, ECDSA and EdDSA signing keys. Builders can scope grants by project and environment, constrain JWT claims with JSON Schema, rotate keys centrally and publish standard OIDC/JWKS metadata for verification outside Vercel.
DynamoDB vector indexes add native similarity search through SearchVectors and now have clear per-GB write, search and storage pricing, plus published throughput quotas.
The useful part is not the 800,000-line headline. GitHub has published unusually detailed receipts for a production-scale agent-assisted migration: roughly $120,000 of token spend, 14.5 weeks of incremental releases, dozens of regressions, extensive compatibility tests and a workload-specific jump from 7.55 to 120 session lifecycles per second.
Quattro’s unified programmable shell is a real architecture change rather than a theme refresh. Omarchy 4.0.2 now hardens package, installer, SSH and input paths, while current user reports of Quickshell crashes and a runaway-memory event illustrate the new central shell’s blast radius.
The previously reported Stripe–OpenRouter deal is now official. The companies have announced an acquisition agreement, removing the dossier’s main uncertainty; the next questions are closing, product independence, pricing and how deeply Stripe integrates token routing with billing.
The deadline is no longer theoretical: browsers, Git HTTPS backends and API clients that still depend on SHA-1-era TLS algorithms can now lose connectivity to GitHub.com.
GitHub Issues now gives agent automations confidence levels, rationales and optional approvals, letting teams automate routine triage while holding uncertain changes for review.
From September and October, Copilot Business and Enterprise seat access becomes more tightly coupled to upfront payment. A separate September 28 policy migration enables a unified Copilot experience by default, retains github.com chat data for the life of the account and changes code review’s default effort from Lite to Balanced.
Haiku 5.5 resets the economics of high-volume classification, extraction and agent sub-tasks, while Anthropic also cuts Sonnet 5.5 cache-read prices and introduces API credits for Max/Team subscribers.
GitHub Spark stops being available to existing users on August 31, 2026. Deployed apps are meant to keep running, but owners should export code to a repository now; Spark apps using `llm()` need a separate inference provider because the underlying GitHub Models service retired July 30.
Postmark’s new IP Allowlisting creates an extra sending boundary around API credentials: trusted infrastructure can send normally, while requests from outside configured ranges fail even if the token itself is valid. SMTP is not covered.
Hy4 preview is a very large sparse model with public full and FP8 weights, native speculative decoding and a 1M-token context path. Its open release makes Tencent’s claims testable, while the 1.56TB full checkpoint keeps self-hosting firmly in server-scale territory.
