Ghost is turning its Docker Compose preview into the default self-hosting architecture for Ghost 7 and ending normal Ghost-CLI maintenance. Existing self-hosters will need to migrate deployment assumptions, not just upgrade the CMS package.
Docker VMM gives Docker direct control over Desktop’s hidden Linux-VM layer and is still targeted to become the default for new installs at GA. The August 24 Desktop 4.88 release is an important beta signal: it fixes a severe inbound-network-throughput regression and removes a 28 GiB Mac memory ceiling, reinforcing the need for workload-specific testing before standardisation.
Vet turns dependency updates from an implicit trust decision into an explicit, reviewable one for Laravel, Symfony, WordPress and plain PHP projects, with optional local coding-agent review layered underneath the human trust decision.
Docker’s new agent stack combines pay-as-you-go microVM sandboxes with an OCI-based Kit format for declaring what an agent can use. Cloud sessions cost from $0.07 to $1.12 an hour, and Docker says it plans to take the Kit specification toward CNCF neutral governance.
This is not a normal container refresh. InfluxDB 3 is a ground-up architecture change with different query and storage assumptions, and Flux is not supported. Treating `latest` as a harmless moving patch tag can therefore turn an ordinary image pull into an unplanned database migration.
Symfony’s official LSP has moved quickly beyond its August 17 launch. Ten releases in six days added Docker-hosted PHP indexing, Zed and OpenCode support, richer Twig and Doctrine navigation, XML service support and real-application performance tests; the project is still explicitly beta.
PHP's official extension installer can now install multiple packages in one command and select missing project extensions without prompting. PIE 1.5 also improves attestation verification for its own updates.
The useful finding is not that BRIN is bad: it is that a table can still report strong column correlation while update churn has destroyed the physical range locality BRIN actually depends on. DeepSQL published the full Docker/SQL harness so teams can reproduce the failure mode on their own workloads.
Supabase’s self-hosted stack now routes through Envoy by default, bringing new API-key support and hardened gateway defaults while breaking some Kong-specific assumptions.
The Agent Host’s environment boundary has moved from local Dev Containers to remote development hosts, making persistent coding-agent sessions more portable across real remote projects.
Pi’s first stable release is interesting less for another coding-agent version number than for what its deliberately minimal core now considers mature enough to include: MCP, code-driven tool orchestration and model routing.
The useful shift is not another CLI convenience. A coding agent can now create a Shopify dev environment, populate it with existing API and bulk-operation tooling, test against it and tear it down without a person opening the Dev Dashboard.
TRACE targets a gap between audit promises and what an AI agent actually did at runtime. Its v0.2 developer preview can bind model, policy, data and tool-use claims to confidential-computing attestation, but it is still pre-ratification and explicitly not ready to treat as a production compliance guarantee.
The useful shift is architectural: agent permissions no longer have to depend only on the model or harness behaving correctly. OpenShell puts policy enforcement in the execution environment, while Sentry is designed to keep watching from a separate hardware trust domain.
