This is not one headline vulnerability fix. Gemini CLI 0.60 is a coordinated hardening pass across the plumbing that lets extensions, sandboxes, filesystem paths and MCP authentication influence an agent’s execution environment.
GitHub OAuth apps can now use eight-hour access tokens with rotating refresh tokens, register up to 10 callback URLs, and explicitly control wildcard callback matching. New apps default to expiring tokens, while existing single-callback apps should review a legacy wildcard setting GitHub has now made visible.
The release consolidates several recurring cluster-management jobs into core APIs and controllers. HPA scale-to-zero is now default-on Beta, storage-version migration and Pod Certificates are Stable, DRA can satisfy existing extended-resource requests, and large etcd reads gain a streaming path that reduces peak memory pressure.
The two August 28 changes move a common production-agent problem out of bespoke application code: builders can derive memory boundaries from authenticated JWT claims, enforce them with Cedar policy, and organize the stored memory using runtime tenant dimensions.
Fitbit API integrations have less than a month to migrate. The replacement changes authentication and API surface, while Google is still restricting onboarding for new Health API projects.
The migration is now much safer for background-only and bulk-installed apps: a timed-out direct conversion no longer automatically strands the store. The retry window is bounded and can end earlier after the issued pair is refreshed or another token acquisition supersedes it.
The change separates three things that are often bundled together: the harness, the subscription that pays for it, and the sandbox that executes it. Builders can switch among supported coding agents behind one interface while reusing existing subscription access and reducing credential exposure inside agent runtimes.
Agent Identity is moving from a standalone credential boundary into a mainstream serverless runtime. Cloud Run can now assign agent identities and register agents/MCP servers automatically, reducing custom discovery and identity plumbing while keeping the runtime integration itself in Preview.
Android Bench 2.0 moves coding-agent evaluation away from small repository fixes toward dependency upgrades, app builds, migrations and other jobs that can take a human engineer days. The results expose a much larger reliability gap than short-task benchmarks—and show that the agent harness can materially change cost and outcome.
Next.js 16.3 separates two kinds of improvement: default Turbopack memory/build changes that existing apps can gain from an upgrade, and opt-in Cache Components/Instant Navigations that change how route shells, prefetching and blocking data are designed. Teams should evaluate those migrations independently.
Large forums and social platforms can apply to push trending public posts and interaction counts to Google via OAuth and JSON-LD. Stable public URLs, attribution, moderation and fast updates are required; indexing and ranking are not guaranteed.
GitHub’s credential-response story now has both discovery and containment: enterprise owners can export SSH keys, PATs, OAuth and GitHub App tokens with ownership, scope and last-use metadata, then use selective revocation rather than invalidating every credential a user holds.
Cloudflare’s crawler controls now distinguish between refusing AI training and refusing the crawler itself. The new Disallow AI Training option is designed to keep search discoverability while expressing a training opt-out to operators that meet Cloudflare’s Accountable requirements.
The practical change is bigger than another package-manager version. Homebrew can now tell operators whether vulnerabilities are actually outstanding in the formula revisions they installed, while its own recent advisories show why package-manager metadata, uninstall paths and build isolation deserve the same scrutiny as package contents.
The interesting change is architectural rather than another storage feature: migration becomes a server-to-server transfer initiated through an S3-compatible PutObject or UploadPart call, with range and multipart support for large objects.
From January 2027, Gmail will no longer send mail as non-Google addresses or fetch third-party accounts through Gmailify/POP on the web. Forwarding into Gmail and third-party accounts in the mobile app remain available, so small-business and custom-domain users need to distinguish the affected desktop workflow from Gmail’s broader mail protocols.
Supabase has implemented MCP Enterprise-Managed Authorization using identity-provider assertions, short-lived tokens and existing Supabase role boundaries. It gives organizations a central on/off switch for approved AI clients while keeping access scoped to the individual employee rather than sharing a powerful organization token.
The important part of pg_vault_tde's 1.7.2 release is the operational migration: v4 rows can still be read after upgrade, but UPDATE can crash until they are rewritten.
This is more than a routine quarterly version bump. Several 2026-10 changes require code updates or can change order economics and checkout behavior, so Shopify apps need to test against the release candidate before production traffic begins moving to the new stable version.
Reprise was already Symfony’s recommended modern bundler integration, but 1.0 changes the adoption decision: applications can now depend on a documented compatibility contract rather than an experimental 0.x API, while Encore remains available in low-maintenance mode.
