Rust 1.100 ends native compiler toolchains on 32-bit Windows hosts
This is a compatibility boundary for old Windows build hosts, not the end of Rust support for 32-bit Windows applications.

This is a compatibility boundary for old Windows build hosts, not the end of Rust support for 32-bit Windows applications.
Neon now includes 100 separate free Postgres projects with 1GB each, 100 compute-unit hours per project and branching. It is a meaningful per-project allowance increase, not an unrestricted production database tier.
This is more than a routine quarterly version bump. Several 2026-10 changes require code updates or can change order economics and checkout behavior, so Shopify apps need to test against the release candidate before production traffic begins moving to the new stable version.
Shopify's new Events system can send the change and the data your app needs in one delivery. It's a significant alternative to classic webhooks, but not a forced shutdown or universal replacement yet.
Shopify is turning off its old cross-merchant catalog REST API on November 2. The replacement is a UCP-compatible MCP server, not a renamed URL: agents must remap tools, payloads and saved-catalog identifiers.
Theme developers using Shopify CLI 3.83.x and older against password-protected storefronts are now past the documented cutoff. Shopify requires 3.84.0 or later for these flows; the live changelog's September 23 date supersedes the earlier October 1 deadline in this dossier.
For deals and store transfers from August 10, Shopify partners can earn both subscription revenue share and a slice of merchant GMV, while the earning window becomes four years instead of perpetual.
The migration is now much safer for background-only and bulk-installed apps: a timed-out direct conversion no longer automatically strands the store. The retry window is bounded and can end earlier after the issued pair is refreshed or another token acquisition supersedes it.
Canvas moves AI store building into production theme code, but the official requirements make the maintenance boundary clearer: entering Canvas can cut off normal theme downloads and upstream theme updates.
The useful shift is not another CLI convenience. A coding agent can now create a Shopify dev environment, populate it with existing API and bulk-operation tooling, test against it and tear it down without a person opening the Dev Dashboard.
The distribution shift matters beyond another sales-channel integration: product discovery, checkout, attribution and analytics can now happen off the merchant’s own storefront, and some familiar client-side pixels and checkout customizations do not travel with the order.
The migration risk is subtle: nothing breaks immediately, yet ERP, marketplace, POS and supplier integrations can become incomplete as soon as merchants start attaching multiple UPC, EAN, GTIN, ISBN or ASIN identifiers to one variant.
The non-Plus checkout migration is now an active compatibility boundary rather than an approaching deadline. Orders can continue while old post-purchase scripts, pixels or widgets stop working, making end-to-end conversion and app-behavior checks important after the cutover.
The checkout ScriptTag shutdown already had an earlier deadline; this is the separate storefront cutoff. Pinning an old Admin API version will not preserve write access after October, and any feature still depending on an injected storefront script stops working in March.
Shopify's App Pricing migration is now clearer: directly matching subscriptions can move through plan setup, while usage-based and price-mismatched subscriptions stay on the Billing API until a separate Migration API arrives.
A security fix for a widely used PostgreSQL vector extension makes index-build permissions and extension patching part of AI search infrastructure hygiene.
Google did not announce a new spam policy with the August update, but early independent measurement shows unusually large ranking displacement across 20 industries. The data is useful for diagnosing timing and scale, not proof that any individual site was demoted for spam.
Workers KV Instant is built for hot-path flags, not general storage: Cloudflare quotes 1.62ms p99 reads, $0.20 per million reads, $0.10 per write and $100 per MB each month. Private beta limits are strict.
The 10GB Hobby storage cap has not changed, but the consequence of crossing it has. Vercel has removed the previous 30-day grace period for non-exempt deployments, shrinking the rollback and preview history free-plan builders can assume will remain available.
The change makes heavier frameworks and dependency trees deployable to Workers without plan-specific compressed-size ceilings, but it also changes what builders need to measure: the operative limit is now uncompressed Total Upload rather than the gzip number they may have optimized around.
