Agent Plugins 1.0 now has documented support across VS Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT/Codex, Kiro and several open-source agents. That makes the format materially more useful for cross-client distribution, but portable components remain limited to Agent Skills and MCP servers while permissions, hooks, commands and host UX stay client-specific.
JPEG XL is leaving the experimental-browser niche. Chrome 155 now decodes it by default, but Edge, older installed browsers and Safari's partial feature set still require fallbacks.
Self-Hosted Machines changes the architecture of Cursor’s Cloud Agents more than another model option would. Teams can keep code, build outputs, secrets and terminal/browser actions on infrastructure they control, but the planning/inference loop remains a Cursor service and enterprise teams become responsible for worker images, scaling, secrets and production validation.
The interesting change is economic as much as benchmark-driven. Anthropic is compressing capability that previously justified its larger Fable tier into Opus pricing, while cutting Opus list prices and expanding immediate availability across the major clouds.
This is not a normal ranking update. Google is changing the structure of commercial search results in the EEA under the Digital Markets Act, creating explicit result surfaces for vertical search services and suppliers that do not appear the same way elsewhere.
Studio Code was already available in WordPress Studio, but the August 24 redesign changes the default workflow: the coding agent now sits at the center of the desktop app beside a live local WordPress preview, with point-and-annotate feedback and one-click hosting sync. The beta also ends the earlier unlimited-free framing by introducing a credit limit and paid top-ups.
Cloudflare Workflows now prices steps and persisted state on paid plans, making workflow structure and retention part of the cost calculation for durable jobs and AI automation.
Zigpoll is a useful tiny-team pricing case because the claimed gain came from segment fit rather than simply charging everyone more. The founder says moving integrations down to the standard plan removed friction for agencies managing many client stores; current product pricing remains tiered primarily by survey-response volume.
Approved apps can move from the standard 20%/25% non-recurring service-fee rates to 15%/20% for new/existing installs from September 30, before any applicable billing fee. Current enrollment is limited to developer account groups with at least $1 million in earnings over the previous 12 months.
Chrome extension publishers now face individualized publication caps, with two slots as the default for new or low-history accounts. Existing extensions remain published, increases can be requested, and Google is also retiring the Featured badge while making recent reviews more important to ratings.
Jev’s launch claims were interesting; Vercel’s usage data is more useful. Nearly 13% of paid AI Gateway teams tried the typed decision model in its first day, while Jev also rose to a material share of gateway requests. That does not establish retention or production success, but it is unusually fast developer uptake for a model designed to make bounded software decisions rather than generate prose.
The previously reported Stripe–OpenRouter deal is now official. The companies have announced an acquisition agreement, removing the dossier’s main uncertainty; the next questions are closing, product independence, pricing and how deeply Stripe integrates token routing with billing.
The Cloudflare move is a hard migration deadline for Deno Deploy users and a major maintenance change for Deno runtime adopters. JSR will continue, and self-hosted distributed Workers are still a future plan.
GitHub Actions now has enforceable actor and event rules before a workflow starts, plus a coming default block for a trigger that can expose repository secrets to untrusted fork code.
Canvas moves AI store building into production theme code, but the official requirements make the maintenance boundary clearer: entering Canvas can cut off normal theme downloads and upstream theme updates.
The August Local Services Ads migration is an operational cutoff, not a rebrand. Selected U.S. home and storefront service advertisers are moving into Google Ads now; teams need to export old reports and re-check budget and bidding assumptions before their account is transferred.
The corrected rollout matters for supply-chain configuration: teams can still remove PATs for qualifying GitHub Packages, but GitHub changed the precedence model after some npm update jobs were mistakenly routed through GitHub Packages.
Docker’s new agent stack combines pay-as-you-go microVM sandboxes with an OCI-based Kit format for declaring what an agent can use. Cloud sessions cost from $0.07 to $1.12 an hour, and Docker says it plans to take the Kit specification toward CNCF neutral governance.
Ghost is turning its Docker Compose preview into the default self-hosting architecture for Ghost 7 and ending normal Ghost-CLI maintenance. Existing self-hosters will need to migrate deployment assumptions, not just upgrade the CMS package.
The two August 28 changes move a common production-agent problem out of bespoke application code: builders can derive memory boundaries from authenticated JWT claims, enforce them with Cedar policy, and organize the stored memory using runtime tenant dimensions.
