Manifest V2 was already disabled for modern Chrome users. The August 31 change closes the remaining Web Store path, turning any still-pinned legacy install into an effectively frozen artifact with no Store update or reinstall route.
A third-party GEO dataset recorded an 86.4% relative collapse in Reddit’s visible ChatGPT Search citation share while Google AI citation changes were much smaller. The result is a useful warning against building an AI-discovery strategy around one source platform, not proof of an OpenAI penalty or Reddit removal.
From September and October, Copilot Business and Enterprise seat access becomes more tightly coupled to upfront payment. A separate September 28 policy migration enables a unified Copilot experience by default, retains github.com chat data for the life of the account and changes code review’s default effort from Lite to Balanced.
This is separate from LinkedIn’s Ads Legacy Geo cutoff already tracked by BTN. Profile and compliance integrations can fail more quietly: the request may still succeed while a field the application expects simply disappears or becomes null.
The median SaaS LTV forecast looks almost right at 12 months, but that average hides huge misses in both directions. For acquisition budgets, payback planning and company valuation, ChartMogul’s new 3,331-company analysis argues for treating LTV as a directional indicator rather than a precise revenue forecast.
For some queries, Google is no longer waiting for a user to open a longer AI Overview. The system can expand it automatically, creating a larger zero-click answer surface and moving traditional results further down the page.
Postmark’s new IP Allowlisting creates an extra sending boundary around API credentials: trusted infrastructure can send normally, while requests from outside configured ranges fail even if the token itself is valid. SMTP is not covered.
Docker VMM gives Docker direct control over Desktop’s hidden Linux-VM layer and is still targeted to become the default for new installs at GA. The August 24 Desktop 4.88 release is an important beta signal: it fixes a severe inbound-network-throughput regression and removes a 28 GiB Mac memory ceiling, reinforcing the need for workload-specific testing before standardisation.
Reddit has made the direction of its API platform explicit: existing API apps should register now, with an August 30 cutoff for possible $1,000 porting-bounty eligibility and a broader September 30 registration request. The actual migration is later, but builders need to inventory dependencies and missing Devvit capabilities now.
The study moves the AI-search traffic debate beyond observational correlations: participants were randomly assigned to current Google Search, a version with AI features hidden, or AI Mode-only search during ordinary browsing. It is still a preprint and does not establish effects for every query or publisher.
Supabase’s self-hosted stack now routes through Envoy by default, bringing new API-key support and hardened gateway defaults while breaking some Kong-specific assumptions.
The strongest signal in Produktly’s 2026 onboarding dataset is not a universal target but a set of usable baselines: median tour completion was 29%, 1–2-step tours completed far more often than 9+ step tours, in-app NPS response rates were low, and announcement attention was heavily front-loaded. The report explicitly discloses sample and causal limitations.
Astro 7.2’s experimental incremental-build mode attacks the page-generation phase rather than only bundling speed. Large static sites can opt routes into cache-aware reuse, but teams must choose correct cache keys and persist Astro’s cache directory in CI to benefit safely.
Cloudflare’s first half-year DDoS report records 935 network-layer attacks above 1 Tbps and a 519% Q1-to-Q2 increase, but says 96.62% of attacks stayed below 500 Mbps and 90.60% ended within 10 minutes. The figures are Cloudflare-network telemetry, not a neutral census of the internet.
Cloud CDN can now honor CDN-Cache-Control separately from browser-facing Cache-Control. That gives builders a standards-based way to set shared-cache behavior at the edge while preserving different client-side caching rules.
Stripe says Revenue Recognition users covered by its pricing transition must select a subscription plan by August 19, 2026. If they have not switched by August 20, Stripe will automatically turn the product off until they subscribe.
The change turns cache poisoning from mostly a workflow-design warning into an enforceable permission boundary. Teams can let untrusted jobs restore caches without writing them, prevent reusable workflows from escalating cache access and isolate jobs that only need to publish cache entries.
The important signal is the infection path. A trusted maintainer can unknowingly become the supply-chain carrier when malware modifies project and build files before a normal package publish, so publisher identity alone does not prove the artifact matches the maintainer’s intent.
This is a patch-and-hunt event rather than a routine Commerce security release. Exploitation began before the vendor fix existed, and Adobe plus independent responders recommend remediation that goes beyond installing the hotfix when compromise is suspected.
The resilience improvement fixes one distributed-systems failure mode, not every token-exchange failure. Existing public apps migrating legacy tokens need stricter handling because the initial non-expiring-to-expiring conversion can still orphan an installation and require merchant reauthorization.
