Video.js 10 rebuilds the web video player — and migration is not a package upgrade

Video.js 10 is a new player architecture, not a drop-in v8 upgrade: review new package names, compatibility, streaming limits and migration guides.
The architectural shift is from application-wide container configuration toward individually managed stateful compute. A Durable Object can now start its own image and size, keep an independent lifecycle and restore filesystem state without treating every instance as part of one rollout.
From September and October, Copilot Business and Enterprise seat access becomes more tightly coupled to upfront payment. A separate September 28 policy migration enables a unified Copilot experience by default, retains github.com chat data for the life of the account and changes code review’s default effort from Lite to Balanced.
The Assistants API shutdown date has passed. OpenAI’s deprecation documentation lists August 26, 2026 as the removal date and directs developers to Responses and Conversations for replacement workloads.
The material change is that model routing is no longer a single opaque optimization target. Developers can now tell Copilot whether to bias Auto toward lower cost, a middle ground or higher quality while GitHub still chooses a model prompt by prompt.
Jalapeño is working first-party silicon rather than a roadmap item, and OpenAI now says AI itself materially accelerated the design process. The distinction still matters: tape-out means the design was finalized for manufacturing; it does not mean fleet-scale production qualification or API deployment is complete.
Quattro’s unified programmable shell is a real architecture change rather than a theme refresh. Omarchy 4.0.2 now hardens package, installer, SSH and input paths, while current user reports of Quickshell crashes and a runaway-memory event illustrate the new central shell’s blast radius.
Connection Allowlists turn outbound browser networking into an explicit allowlist for Fetch and other web-platform APIs. The control is opt-in and currently Chromium-only, and strict policies can break legitimate dependencies such as FedCM identity-provider requests if teams omit required endpoints.
Coolify 4.4.0 adds opt-in proxy traffic analytics, external secret managers, OIDC login, audit trails, Cloudflare DNS and experimental SQLite. Operators need to account for proxy restarts, Caddy redeploys and feature maturity.
DV360's new bulk-campaign file format isn't a drop-in CSV upgrade: targeting expands, YouTube vendor columns change, and API support lags the interface. Integrators should audit parsers before migrating.
A follow-up security fix shows why wrapper capabilities need path restrictions as well as origin checks: tinyjs 0.48.0 now confines direct PDF writes and requires user confirmation for other locations.
The important change is at the gateway boundary, not just inference placement. OpenRouter says prompts can now stay in-region from decryption through provider execution and supported server tools, while teams can enforce the rule per workspace, team or API key.
The first rollout turns developer identity into an Android-level distribution requirement across Google Play and six partner stores. It does not mean every sideloaded app is blocked today, but it materially changes the direction of non-Play Android distribution.
X’s replacement creator program is now live enough to expose a new dependency: U.S. creators must route Original Content Rewards payouts through X Money, and one X Money account can connect to only one X account. Eligibility and qualified-impression rules remain unchanged.
The AI Compute Partnership tied Nvidia more directly to the capital structure and utilization risk of emerging cloud providers. Reuters says the initiative is now paused amid concerns about circular demand, control over partners and antitrust exposure, although Nvidia says the broader compute-access model continues to evolve.
Anthropic’s pre-IPO economics now include another enormous reported infrastructure commitment: Reuters says the company will spend $45B over six years on Nscale capacity beginning in late 2027. Anthropic declined to comment, so the deal remains sourced reporting rather than a company-confirmed obligation.
WordPress 7.0.4 fixes CVE-2026-65640, a CVSS 8.8 remote code execution flaw affecting installations that process malicious PostScript uploads through Imagick and Ghostscript. Fixes have also been backported to branches as old as 4.7.
The previously reported Stripe–OpenRouter deal is now official. The companies have announced an acquisition agreement, removing the dossier’s main uncertainty; the next questions are closing, product independence, pricing and how deeply Stripe integrates token routing with billing.
GLiNER2.5-Decide attacks the same bounded-decision layer as Jev and CLM from a much smaller encoder architecture. Its strongest benchmark claims are vendor-produced, but CPU deployment and constrained joint decoding make it a materially different option for software-facing AI decisions.
Hy4 preview is a very large sparse model with public full and FP8 weights, native speculative decoding and a 1M-token context path. Its open release makes Tencent’s claims testable, while the 1.56TB full checkpoint keeps self-hosting firmly in server-scale territory.
