Fly.io raises Machines RAM prices while nearly halving Sprites compute costs
Always-on RAM-heavy Fly Machines cost more from October, while bursty Sprites get much cheaper. CPU pricing for Machines and Managed Postgres plans stay unchanged.

This is a hard managed-database migration rather than a soft deprecation. IONOS says automatic migration is impossible, v1 instances are switched off, and applications need new v2 endpoints even though Valkey remains compatible with standard Redis clients.
Funes treats agent memory as user-owned data rather than a hosted account feature: retrieval and reranking run locally, provenance stays attached to recalled passages, and cross-machine sharing is optional. The main risk is that publishing session-derived memory can still expose secrets if redaction misses them.
Self-Hosted Machines changes the architecture of Cursor’s Cloud Agents more than another model option would. Teams can keep code, build outputs, secrets and terminal/browser actions on infrastructure they control, but the planning/inference loop remains a Cursor service and enterprise teams become responsible for worker images, scaling, secrets and production validation.
The browser-for-machines project has reached 1.0 with a major web-compatibility jump and new cross-origin protections. It is not a drop-in replacement for every Chrome use case.
SwarmLLM does not route whole prompts to separate machines; it pipelines one model across browser tabs. A MacBook and iPhone can jointly hold Qwen 3.8 27B even when neither device can hold the full 15GB quantized model alone, with no inference server in the loop.
Meta’s Muse Glimmer 30B combines tool use, coding, vision and agentic task completion with official local-runtime artifacts. A 17GB GGUF build targets 24GB-VRAM machines, but Meta also attaches a separate usage policy, so builders should distinguish weight availability from unrestricted use.
Railway Cloud Agents are managed, persistent development machines rather than a new model or harness. They reuse developers’ existing agent credentials, sleep when disconnected by default, retain disk state, and live inside Railway project environments—blurring the boundary between remote coding workspace and deployment platform.
Muse packages persistent autonomous execution, credentials, payments, app access and memory into a mainstream consumer product. A September macOS hotfix now provides an early real-world lesson: agent containment has to protect not only the cloud runtime but also the local control path into the agent.
This is a compatibility boundary for old Windows build hosts, not the end of Rust support for 32-bit Windows applications.
From January 2027, Gmail will no longer send mail as non-Google addresses or fetch third-party accounts through Gmailify/POP on the web. Forwarding into Gmail and third-party accounts in the mobile app remain available, so small-business and custom-domain users need to distinguish the affected desktop workflow from Gmail’s broader mail protocols.
Apple’s October EU terms rewrite replaces the per-install Core Technology Fee with transaction commissions and lets alternative payments coexist with IAP. The exact rate table makes the economics clearer: developers need to model checkout method, program eligibility and distribution channel rather than install scale alone.
A 50M+ subscription cohort gives AI SaaS builders a more useful retention benchmark than conversion anecdotes: high-retention monthly apps renew 57.9% of subscribers at the first opportunity versus 30.2% for low retainers, with the gap narrowing later. The study is observational, not causal.
Google Cloud’s Developer Device Platform is now in public preview with remote physical-device streaming, parallel emulator testing, smart sharding and an agent skill that can drive multi-step journeys, inspect visual issues and feed fixes back into coding agents. It is billed per active device minute and remains a pre-GA service.
Type-checking is now a first-class Bun command and optional precondition for running code. It may replace `tsc --noEmit` for some projects, not TypeScript's declaration emitter or editor language service.
Theme developers using Shopify CLI 3.83.x and older against password-protected storefronts are now past the documented cutoff. Shopify requires 3.84.0 or later for these flows; the live changelog's September 23 date supersedes the earlier October 1 deadline in this dossier.
The important signal is the infection path. A trusted maintainer can unknowingly become the supply-chain carrier when malware modifies project and build files before a normal package publish, so publisher identity alone does not prove the artifact matches the maintainer’s intent.
Google's distributed SQL database can now run in production beyond Google Cloud, but 'deploy anywhere' doesn't mean free or fully managed. Spanner Omni GA brings security, backup and paid commercial licensing, with important limits on its developer edition.
Woodpecker's agent labels were self-reported and unsuitable for authorization. Version 3.19 adds server-held filters and patches a clone-step environment-variable leak; administrators should verify their worker policies.
The Cloudflare move is a hard migration deadline for Deno Deploy users and a major maintenance change for Deno runtime adopters. JSR will continue, and self-hosted distributed Workers are still a future plan.
