Google wins dismissal of publisher antitrust suits over AI Overviews

The ruling does not decide whether AI Overviews hurt publisher traffic or whether reuse of publisher content is fair. It narrows one legal route for challenging that shift: these complaints did not turn the search-for-content relationship into an antitrust agreement, and the court said broader economic dislocation is a question for lawmakers.

Google Ads starts showing how many conversions your first-party data recovered

The shift is broader than another Ads dashboard metric. Google is connecting first-party data pipelines, conversion-recovery estimates, open-source marketing-mix modeling and causal geo experiments into one measurement stack — useful, but still heavily dependent on Google’s own modeling and internal benchmark claims.

Amazon joins YouTube Shopping so creators can tag products instead of relying on description links

The integration brings Amazon’s catalog into YouTube’s native shopping layer. It reduces the gap between product recommendation and purchase compared with description links, but access currently requires both YouTube and Amazon affiliate eligibility and is still limited to a select group of creators.

A preregistered field experiment finds Google’s AI search reduces publisher clicks

The study moves the AI-search traffic debate beyond observational correlations: participants were randomly assigned to current Google Search, a version with AI features hidden, or AI Mode-only search during ordinary browsing. It is still a preprint and does not establish effects for every query or publisher.

Reddit’s tracked share of ChatGPT Search citations fell 86% in mid-August

A third-party GEO dataset recorded an 86.4% relative collapse in Reddit’s visible ChatGPT Search citation share while Google AI citation changes were much smaller. The result is a useful warning against building an AI-discovery strategy around one source platform, not proof of an OpenAI penalty or Reddit removal.
